MANUFACTURE'S LIMITED WARRANTY TO YOU
Our Custom Doors grace the entrances and passages of exquisite homes throughout the world. Our designs, artisanship and exemplary service have earned us a reputation as the one of the world's finest door maker. This warranty is effective for Custom Doors manufactured by us on or after January 1, 2004 for use in the United States and Canada. Any previous warranties will continue to apply to door products manufactured by us prior to this date. For additional information contact us or refer to
Warranty Inclusions:
We warrant our products below will be free from defects in materials or workmanship from the date of purchase for the time periods specified below:
One Year Limited Warranty on Factory Pre-finish: We warrant the factory pre-finish on our door for 12 months. Should the factory pre-finish be proven defective, we will at our option refinish the door or pay up to $150.00 to the current owner.
One Year Limited Warranty on Structure: We warrant the structure of our door for 12 months. Should the structure be proven defective, we will at our option to repair, replace or refund up to $500.00 to the distributor or person making the warranty claim

We can respond quickly and efficiently if you provide the following: a) date and location of purchase, b) how to contact you, c) the address of where the product can be inspected, and d) a description of the problem and the product (photographs are helpful).
What We Will Do:
Upon receiving your notification, we will send out an acknowledgement within three business days of receipt to the contact identified. We will investigate your claim and take appropriate action within 90 days of receipt of notification. If it is determined that our product does not have a defect covered by the warranty, we may charge an inspection fee for an onsite inspection that is required or requested by you. If it is determined that there is a defect, we will either repair the door or ship a replacement door to the distributor or person making the warranty claim in the same condition of fitting or finishing as the door originally sold to the distributor. If we are unable to provide replacement and repair is not practical or cannot be made timely, then we will refund the purchase price. This guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary from state to state.
If the claimed nonconformity is warp, we may defer repairing or replacing the door panel for a period up to twelve months from the date of claim. It is not uncommon for a temporary warp condition to occur as the door panel adjusts to local humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral will not be counted against the warranty period.
Our manufacture will hold no liabilities under this or any implied warranties, unless such doors have been handled, stored, finished, installed and maintained in accordance with the listed recommendations of the National Wood Window and Door Association.
Dimensional Tolerances:
1. Stile, rail and core show-through (telegraphing) is not considered a defect unless the face of the doors varies from a true plane in excess of 1/100" in any three inch span.
2. Size tolerance: thickness +/- 1/16", length +/- 1/16", standard width +/- 1/16", pre-fit width +/- 1/32"
3. Factory hardware preparation tolerance: +/- 1/32" on hinge preparation cutouts, + 1/32" minus 0 on lock front preparation cutouts.
4. Squareness tolerance: diagonal measurement difference will not exceed 1/8".
5. Warp is any distortion in the door itself and does not refer to the door in relation to the frame or jamb in which it is installed. Warp is not considered a defect unless is exceeds 1/4" in the plane of the door itself. Warp is measured by placing a straightedge on the concave face and determining the maximum distance from the straightedge to the door face. For doors 1 3/4" or thicker, warp will not exceed ?" in doors 3/6 x 7/0 or smaller, nor will it exceed 1/4" in any 3/6 x 7/0 section of larger doors. For doors 1-3/8" in thickness, warp will not exceed 1/4" in 3/0 x 7/0 or smaller.
Warranty Exclusions:
1. Natural variation in color and texture of wood.
2. The appearance of field-finished doors. Discoloration or rusting of decorative metal accent options, such as grilles, clavos, straps, etc.; solid oak or mahogany sill
3. Unsatisfactory appearance or service caused by failure to follow recommended storage, handling, finishing, installation and maintenance instructions, enclosed in this publication.
4. The warranty against warp will not apply to the following:
a. Doors with different face materials such as veneers, HPL and finishes.
b. 1 3/4" doors wider than 3/0 and higher than 7/0
c. Doors that are improperly hung or do not swing freely.
d. Problems related to: improper finishing of all surfaces (front and back) and edges (top, bottom, and sides) of the door system; variation or unsatisfactory results in sheen or texture resulting from the field application of paint or any other finishing material; damage caused by extreme temperature buildup where storm doors are present.
e. Doors that have light and/or louver cutout area exceeding 40% of the door surface area, or 50% of door height.
f. All custom ordered doors and/or glass structure and/or setups regardless of sizes and style
g. Slight expansion or contraction due to varying environmental conditions; panel movement (shrinkage) of 1/3" or less due to temperature and humidity.
5. Damage or poor product performance resulting from installation into a condition that exceeds product design standards and/or certified performance specifications and/or does not comply with applicable building codes.
6. Doors with light or louver cutouts closer than five inches to the door edge or doors with less than five inches between cutouts for lights, louvers, locks, closures and/or other hardware cutouts.
7. Cracking of plastic laminate surface doors with openings cut by other than our Door. A 1/4" radius at the corner of the openings must be maintained as specified by AWI 1300-S.
8. The appearance of high gloss on wood or plastic laminate doors.
9. Plastic laminate surface doors in exterior application.
10. Normal wear and tear, including normal wear and tear of weatherstrip; and natural weathering of surfaces or variations in the color or texture of the wood or finish; surface checks that are less than 1/32" in width and/or 2" in length; Knotty Alder: surface checks that are less than 1/8" in width and/or 5" in length, and knot placement, quantity, or size. Problems due to misuse, abuse, failure to follow the care and maintenance instructions; failure to provide an adequate overhang (See Homeowners Manual for BJB Appropriate Exposures or consult your dealer if you have questions); or as a result of any cause beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood, earthquake, other acts of nature, and acts of third parties outside
11. Cost for labor, installation, removal or refinishing (other than stated above) of the replacement door or component.
12. Incidental or consequential damage.
13. Direct sunlight or rain and/or snow and/or hail to more than 30% of the door itself. We recommend exterior door to be installed in a shaded protected area and free from rough weathers.
14. Any exterior door with raised panels wider than 14" due to the normal contraction and expansion across the grain of wide boards.
Because there can be no factory supervision of delivery and job site handling, we cannot be responsible for doors damaged during shipping or at the job site. All claims of shipping damage must be noted on the bill of lading, followed by immediate notification to a factory representative. A reasonable amount of time must be given for inspection and follow-up action.
If our product becomes defective, our manufacture will at its option either: (1) repair the defective door; (2) replace with an identical new door in the same state of fitting and/or finishing as was originally supplied; (3) issue cash refund not to exceed the delivered purchase price of the original door.
We shall not be liable for doors repaired of replaced without prior written consent. Action on any claim for warp or telegraphing may be deferred at the option of our manufacture for a period not to exceed 12 months from the date of the claim being made, as the door must remain in the original installation during the period of deferment to permit conditioning to humidity and temperature.
Our sole responsibility under this warranty is as stated herein and it shall not be liable for consequential, indirect or incidental damages or for any amount in excess of its price for the shipment involved, whether the claim is for breach or warranty or negligence.
Important Legal Information
This Warranty sets forth our maximum liability for our products. We shall not be liable for special, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Your sole and exclusive remedy with respect to any and all losses or damages resulting from any cause whatsoever shall be as specified herein. We make no other warranty or guarantee, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose to the original purchaser or to any subsequent user of the product, except as expressly contained herein. In the event state law precludes exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, the duration of any such warranties shall be no longer than, and the time and manner of presenting any claim thereon shall be the same as, that provided in the express warranty stated herein.
No distributor, dealer or representative of RICHONG has the authority to change, modify or expand this warranty. This warranty extends to the original purchaser (original purchaser means the contractor/distributor/purchaser and the initial owner of the structure where the product is initially installed) and is not transferable. The original purchaser of this product acknowledges that they have read this warranty, understand it and are bound by its terms and agrees to provide this warranty to the original owner of the structure into which the product is installed.
